As part of our commitment to preserving the practice of Usui Reiki Ryoho, we strive to follow the path established during the early years of Usui Sensei's teaching.
In the early days of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, students did not simply attend a seminar and then return to their everyday lives. Learning Reiki was understood to be an ongoing process. Students met regularly with their teachers, attended lectures, practiced what they had learned, and refined their understanding through direct experience. They returned often to receive guidance, ask questions, and participate in Reiki treatments alongside continued study.
We believe this model of continual learning remains just as valuable today. While many modern Reiki training programs are necessarily structured differently, students can sometimes find themselves without regular opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback, or continue practicing with experienced teachers. Ongoing guidance and regular practice help develop practitioners whose understanding is grounded not only in knowledge, but also in experience.
Usui Sensei believed that growth came through continual practice. A seminar provides the foundation, but it is through consistent practice that Reiki gradually becomes understood — not merely as something to know, but as something to experience. It is through that ongoing experience that a deeper understanding of Reiki Ryoho develops. In that same spirit, the Dento Reiki Kyokai offers regular opportunities for continued practice beyond the seminar. Through a variety of practice events, students can strengthen their skills, deepen their understanding, receive ongoing guidance, and continue developing within a supportive community of fellow practitioners.
